How to use the Profit Calculator

1. Revenue: Enter your total revenue (sales) for the period you're calculating — monthly, quarterly, or annual.
2. COGS: Enter direct costs tied to producing your product or service (materials, labor for production, inventory).
3. Operating expenses: Enter your indirect expenses: rent, salaries, software subscriptions, marketing spend, utilities.
4. Other expenses: Optionally add interest payments, depreciation, taxes, or any other costs not already covered.

Gross Profit = Revenue − COGS. Net Profit = Gross Profit − Operating Expenses − Other Expenses. A healthy net margin varies by industry: SaaS typically targets 15–30%, retail 2–6%, services 10–20%.
